She had her stylist add sleeves though.

For an appearance on the Today show Wednesday, Michelle Obama ditched her usual designer style for a $34.95 dress from H&M. (Obama discussed her daughters Malia and Sasha and the Egypt crisis with Matt Lauer during the appearance.)

A rep for the brand tells The Hollywood Reporter that she had her stylist add sleeves to the dress, which is also sold in melon pink in the store.

When asked by Lauer about being a style icon, she said, "I take it as a compliment. It's not something I focus on... Everybody's got to get dressed in the morning and put on something. I hope people find it nice, but it's not something I focus on."

She came under fire last month for wearing a dress by British designer Alexander McQueen(who died in February 2010) to a China State Dinner. The fashion industry has called on her to wear only American labels.
